this new year count down was special. I am on POI duty and my whole platoon were on Jurong Island. yup so this year's "5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Happy New Year" was spent with all my platoon. No party, no loud music, no firework but pizza, coke and soldiers...
Duty on new yr eve sounds like a bad idea but somewhat i really enjoyed myself. this could be one of our common memory that would be shared every time we book in for ICT after we ORD. I really hope i can build a connection with these men and have some memorable times together in the remaining time of my NS. i don't know why suddenly i feel so emo about this platoon. perhaps because i could not sign on and this PL, these men could just be my defining moment of NS. i just want to enjoy the rest of my PC tour as much as possible and to make ns more enjoyable for them.
i want to see these men grow, i want them to become better people after ns though to most of them ns is really a waste of time.. i agree that sometimes..most of the time..ns really doesn't have much to offer to them but that's why i want to try my best to make a small difference and let them learn something, at least something that can help them with the rest of their lives.
this night seems to be the perfect start of 2012.. let the fun begin!
